What’s New at Bauman's 08 Pumpkin Patch
Raise Funds for Families Affected by MS
New Berry Blast Jam
Hello everyone, my name is Brian, Barb and Rick's oldest son and my whole family is not about to let a little rain this last weekend dampen our spirits. We have been working very hard for more than two months to get all of our Harvest Activities ready for you and your family to enjoy and this weekend looks like its going to be perfect! All of your family's favorite Activities are bigger and better than ever.
Austin, my 5 year old son, and myself have made an attempt to make it through the dark maze twice now, but thanks to my dad's maze building skills we always end up turned around and coming out where we started. Allyson, my 1 year old daughter's favorite activity is the jumping pillow. This was new for us last year and for those of you who have not jumped on this before then it is a must for this year's trip. It's hard to describe the feeling because it's not like jumping on a trampoline. You will just have to try it for yourself and this year the pillow is included in the activity stamp. Also, my niece Hailey, Amie and Jeremiah's daughter, has a ball playing in the grain bins, which were also new last year and are twice the size this year. |

In addition to our favorite activities we have also added some awesome new activities. Our favorite by far is our life size pirate ship. My dad and his crew have spent months planning and working on building this pirate ship and it turned out perfect. Well almost perfect, we had a little help from Mother Nature. When we built the boat we had a tall center mask and two small side masks and decorated them with flags and sails. We thought it looked pretty good but last weekend mother nature threw us a curve ball with those high winds and when I showed up to work Saturday morning, the center mask had been toppled over. My first reaction was Ohhh Noo! But after looking at it for a couple minutes it looks even better now with the mask toppled over. It looks like it was in a huge battle and looks more authentic now then it ever did before. You have to come out and take a look for yourself.
Another new activity that we have added this year is our Pedal Cart race track. As we search for new ideas every year we stumbled upon these race carts that you pedal and they looked like a lot of fun. We ended up buying one to try out and it was an instant hit with not only my 5 year old son but the rest of us as well as we were pedaling around the parking lot one afternoon. Jeremiah and Sarah went to work on finding the rest of the carts and we now have 11 carts for people of all ages and sizes and my dad built a race track that is so much fun. The good part and the bad part of these carts is that you definitely get a workout every time you ride them. |

Last year we started with the jumping pillow to help us raise funds for local families affected by Multiple Sclerosis. Our grandfather died of MS several years ago and it has been one of our family's goals to help other families in Oregon who are struggling to deal with the cost and hardship that this disease creates. This year we are using the pedal carts as one of our ways to raise money for these families. Every time you ride the carts for $3, a portion of that money will go to help these families. In addition, to go with our pirate theme, we also are selling Pirate Bandanas. All of the money raised from the sale of these Bandanas will go directly to these families. As a reward for everyone who purchases one of these Bandanas, we have purchased a trip for a family of four to Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound Washington. All you have to do to enter is purchase a Bandana and fill out the entry card that comes with it. The more Bandanas you purchase the more chances you have to win. In addition, Woodburn Company Stores has donated a $100 gift certificate for our second place prize.
On this Friday October 10th, Andy Carson from Good Day Oregon Channel 12, will be out shooting live all morning. We will be announcing on the show that as a special bonus anyone who purchases a Bandana this weekend will be entered into a separate drawing as well as receive a gift bag from the Woodburn Company Stores, which will include two tickets to their upcoming Shopping Extravagance. Thank you Woodburn Company Stores for your help. |

Last but certainly not least, we have a new jam that all of you must try. It is delicious! Many of you have tried our new Berry Blast Pie, which is a combination of Marionberries, Raspberries, and Blueberries. The response we have gotten from this pie has been overwhelming. We decided to turn this combination into a new jam recipe.
We now have Berry Blast jam available and the girls in the store have been sampling it all week and they have been having trouble keeping it on the table. The next time you come by, ask one of the store employees for a sample of this jam and please let us know what you think. We are very excited about it and hope you will be too.
