November 2008
Order Your Holiday Pies
Open House Dec 5th and 6th
Harvest Raffle Winners
All of us around the farm are taking a collective sigh of relief because the month of October is behind us and we all look forward to the Holiday Season on the farm. For the past couple weeks we have worked hard at taking down all of the straw bails and cornstalks and putting up the Christmas Trees and lights. Austin, Ally, and Hailey, the three Bauman Grandchildren, were all very disappointed, as were the rest of the neighborhood children, that the Pirate Ship had to come down. But my dad, Rick, has already got plans on the go for next year. |

It seems every year that everyone gets so focused on Christmas that many times we forget about Thanksgiving. I know on the farm we get so busy trying to get the greenhouses decorated with Christmas Lights and Decorations that before we know it the Bakery is overloaded with orders for Thanksgiving. Tonya and Eri work very hard along with their crew to make sure that Bauman Farms produces the best hand made pies you will ever taste and this year. They assure me that they are ready for the Holidays, but they wanted me to pass along how important it is for you to call ahead with your order for Pies, Bread, and other baked goods. We will produce hundreds of pies in the coming weeks and we want to make sure everyone receives exactly what they want to make their Holiday dinner special.
Please take the time in the next couple days to stop by or just give us a call and we can take your order or suggest one of our favorites. We can have it ready when you come to pick it up. If you have not tried our Bauman’s Berry Blast Pie or Jam, this may be the perfect time to try something new that is sure to make everyone happy. Our Berry Blast is a combination of Blueberries, Raspberries and Marionberries and it is absolutely delicious. We hope to hear from you soon and would love the opportunity to provide something that your whole family can enjoy. (P.S. Eri and Tonya have been making homemade rolls that are mouth watering.) |

Once we get through Thanksgiving we have some new things happening on the farm that we would love for you to be a part of. As a family we are always looking for opportunities to support local groups and organizations that make a difference in all of our communities. This year we have come up with an event that supports the local music programs throughout the Willamette Valley. Nothing evokes the Holiday Spirit quite like the sounds of a group of students singing Christmas carols. On Dec 5th and 6th you can take part in that magic by visiting the farm. From 4pm to 8pm (yes we are staying open late on Friday for this event) on Friday, Dec. 5th and from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, Dec. 6th we have six different local High School and Middle School choirs that will be singing. During the two hour time frame that each of them are performing 10% of all Christmas Tree Sales and all the Handling Charges on Packages that are shipped will be donated to that choir. For a complete list of all the schools that will be present and the times they will be singing click on the following link http://www.baumanfarms.com/christmas.html.
Even if you don’t know any of the children that will be singing we can guarantee that this event will provide a unique magical opportunity for you and your family and friends to find personal gifts and enjoy this one of a kind ambiance. Just like in years past, Santa will be here to take down everyone's Christmas Wish List. You can come see Santa on Nov. 29th 12pm – 4pm, Dec. 5th 2pm-7pm, Dec. 6th 12pm-4pm, Dec. 13 12pm-4pm, and Dec. 20th 12pm-4pm. We hope to see you there!

With the month of October behind us we always like to take this time to start thinking towards next year about what we can do better. The Pirate Ship and the Pedal Kart Track were a big hit this year and we would like to know what you liked about the pumpkin patch this year and what you think we could do better.
Thank You So Much…..to all of the families that came by to play with us this last October. Because of your attendance we were able to donate money to a number of different organizations and some families were able to walk away with some cool prizes as winners of our Scavenger Hunt and Raffle Drawing from the sale of the Pirate Bandanas. |
