NOVEMBER 2007

The craziness of October is behind us and we are very excited about the coming Holiday Season. We have loads of fun family activities and events including Holiday Pie Baking, Wreath decorating classes, and of course creating our wonderful gift boxes and baskets. Below you will find that we have changed the format of our newsletter to give you a chance to meet and learn a little bit more about each one of our family members. Each one of us has taken a moment to let you in on some of the great things happening on the farm during the Holidays.

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Brian and I am the oldest of the kids running around the farm. I have a wonderful son named Austin and a beautiful daughter named Allyson. My family's favorite part of all Holiday meals is of course desert and my Mom has always made the most amazing pies. Fortunately for her and all of you we have an amazing bakery that creates pies just the way my mom likes them. However, if you would like one of our pies for your Holiday meals it is a very good idea to order them ahead. The day before Thanksgiving is a very busy time in the bakery but all you have to do is give us a call and let us know what you would like and we would be happy to have a fresh pie waiting for you when you are ready to pick it up. My favorite is the Appleberry, but I would not wait to long to give us a call because it really helps if we know ahead of time what you would like.

Hi there this is Sarah, the youngest daughter. I thought I might take the opportunity to let you know about something new we have this season here at Bauman Farms, as the seasons turn and the weather gets colder there is nothing that can warm you up as well as a hot cup of coffee or in my Dad or Grandpa's case a hot cup of chocolate. My sister Cari has been working very hard to bring you Bauman's Coffee Corner. She and I offer a great menu of over 24 latte, mocha, and cappuccino flavors as well as 6 sugar free flavors. All lattes and mochas are available iced. For those of you who don't drink coffee, we have options for you as well. Hot chocolate, Mighty Leaf tea, chai tea, milkshakes, and Italian sodas are a few of your options. So next time you head on out to the farm don't forget to grab a drink from my sister and myself over at the coffee corner to sip on as you shop. Now a word or two from Jeremiah. Jeremiah is married to my oldest sister Amie. You do not see them around the farm as much because Jeremiah is out back running our plant growing operation, and Amie actually works at Silverton Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse. Neither one of them have gotten much sleep lately because of there new addition: Haley Elizabeth who was born on Aug 21st.

Hey this is Jeremiah, I just wanted to let you know that plant season is coming up fast and we are busy getting prepared for the 2008 growing season. Every year all of the greenhouses get a good spring cleaning and while it takes us weeks to finish, it is a very important step in the growing process. A clean greenhouse is the first step in producing high quality plants. All of our houses are scrubbed inside and out to help remove any algae or dirt that has accumulated on them. This gives our plants more light. More light makes our plants greener, fuller, and helps them grow to their full potential. Next all of the benches and the floors are cleaned and disinfected. Cleaning and disinfecting helps reduce the amount of bacteria, mold, mildew, and other fungus that may infect our plants. It also eliminates any insects that may still be present from the previous growing season. Quality is our number one priority!! Spending extra time before the plants even arrive helps insure that our plants will be vigorous and full of life when you get them home!! Gardening is fun, relaxing, and much easier when you start with quality plants. Enjoy!!

We would like to invite all of you to our Holiday Open House, Friday November 23rd & Saturday November 24th. Come on out to the farm and see how our fall pumpkins have changed into a winter wonderland. Sample some of our home made cider donuts, try some of our favorite berry jams, some interesting pepper jellies, and some oh so delicious gourmet soups.

We will all be on hand to help with your holiday shopping. We will have hundreds of ready to go gift packs, or we can help you create that very personal gift for the friends & family you have on your list. If you need to send your gifts remember your addresses and we can ship your packages for you. We will also have fresh cut Christmas Trees, Wreaths, Garland & boughs to decorate your home. If you would like to learn how we decorate the beautiful wreaths we have available you, we invite you to sign up for our Wreath decorating class at 1:00 pm Saturday December 1st. Call or email us for more information.

Thank you for spending time with us. Rick & I feel very blessed to have the family we have and to have the many wonderful customers that make our hard work worth while.
