Happy spring everyone! Well at least it feels like spring already doesn’t it? Around the farm everything is in ‘springtime mode’. Out in the animal barn we have some new additions, 2 beautiful baby goats; Lucky & Lola. We also have some super cute baby chicks in the store.

Out in the greenhouses and throughout the garden you can definitely see that spring is right around the corner. In the greenhouses we are receiving multiple truckloads daily of brand new plant material. In the past week our herb tables have been filling up, from chives & cilantro to oregano & parsley and there are lots more to come. Along with the herbs we have Walla Walla onion starts, strawberry plants, hardy banana trees, and some columnar apples. The greenhouses are filling up so fast it is getting hard to mention everything!

With spring right around the corner that means Easter is coming up, and Easter means Easter Egg Hunt!! Our 8th Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 3rd. The festivities will start at 10am with the opening of the jumping pillow which once again will be included in the purchase of the Easter Egg Hunt. New for us this year will be a 3rd age division. At 1pm sharp 1-3 year old will begin the hunt in their section of the field, followed in 10 minute increments by the 4-7 and the 8-12 in each of their areas respectively.

Also new this year will be the coloring sheet that will have a bring back coupon for a Mother's Day gift. Want to know what the best new thing about this year is? Cookie Decorating Classes!! We will have 4 classes at 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, & 2:45. For $1.00 a child will get a large Easter egg sugar cookie to decorate any way they want and you can leave the mess with us! If one cookie is not enough we will have take home decorating kits available as well. If you want more information or want to secure a spot in any of the classes email or call us at 503-792-3524. As if April 3rd wasn’t exciting enough as it is, we will also be having our annual booth at Gardenpalooza that day at Fir Point Farms in Aurora. Rain or shine our booth is under cover and is packed full of plants from the classic favorites to some beautiful new varieties for spring. Gardenpalooza is a great way to kick off spring and to get in the ‘planting’ spirit!

With April coming up that means the end of March and the end of March means the end of our weekly berry sales. Our berry sales have been a great success this year. In case you were unaware of our berry sales, each week we have a featured berry with 20% off the pie, jam, and frozen berry of that variety for our Bauman Family Rewards members.

This week is Marionberry week and next week will be Blueberry to finish out the month.  There is still time to come in and take advantage of these sales but remember it only lasts until March 27th! Not a rewards member yet? That’s ok too! Just sign up as you check out and you will receive the fantastic discounts as well.
