Happy New Year everyone! With a new year comes a new monthly rewards member special! For the month of January rewards members will receive 20% off all houseplants. During the past few weeks we have brought in some of the most beautiful houseplants, from bromeliads and orchids, to stunning foliage plants for some drama. Rewards members will also receive 20% off all pre-planted bulbs. It’s hard to believe that they have come in already but, right outside the front door we have pot after pot of tulips that are just poking out of the soil. They are a beautiful sign that spring is on the way!

Another great sign of spring approaching is the annual Yard Garden & Patio Show at the Oregon Convention Center. Over the past few years this show has been getting bigger and better. It is now something that the whole family, and staff, anxiously anticipates. This year the show is being held February 12-14. The opening day of the show, February 12th, is Brian Bauman's birthday; so make sure tell to him Happy Birthday if you make it to the show that day!

On Saturday Brian will be holding a seminar on planting succulents. He will be demonstrating a "succulent pillow," for more information you can check out the show's website www.ygpshow.com.  The show runs from 10am-7:30pm Friday and Saturday and from 10am – 5pm on Sunday. All weekend there are great things to see and do at the show. Take a walk through the beautiful display gardens for some great new ideas after attending one of the free garden seminars & demonstrations. Tickets at the door will be $11.00 but here at the farm we have tickets available for advanced purchasing at only $9.00.

Along with the New Year we thought that it was time for a new look. We have been hard at work around the store, waxing floors, painting, and rearranging furniture. In the midst of all the cleaning and rearranging we received a shipment of two whole pallets of new craft items. There are some fun new yard crafts for your garden along with some adorable Easter items for inside the home.

As everything begins to switch gears from winter to spring it's hard to believe that it's about that time again. Be sure to stop in and get your apple cider as we are nearing the end of its season! We are just finishing up the Family Rewards Flyer for the first quarter of 2010; it will be mailed out before the end of January and it will include some great coupons. Inside the flyer will be the list of our weekly berry specials that will begin at the beginning of February. If you are not yet a member of our Family Rewards Program, don't worry, there is still time to sign up before the flyer goes out! Just come on into the store and we will get you all set up, for FREE!
