Happy February everyone! Everyone around the farm is in high gear now, getting ready for spring! February is the perfect time to order custom hanging baskets for spring. We know that some people are a little intimidated by the idea of customizing their own baskets. “What if it doesn’t turn out like I imagined it?” Well don’t worry about that, we are here to help.

On Saturday, February 12th @ 10am we will be having our first ever custom hanging basket class. Come and listen as we explain to you which plant varieties go best together, the benefits of each different size of hanging basket, & show you our favorite color combinations from the last few years. At the end of the class you will have the opportunity to select the plant varieties for your own custom hanging baskets.

As you make your selections we will be available to answer questions and to help you put together the perfect baskets for you! After you select your combinations you can leave the rest up to us! We will plant, water, and fertilize your basket until spring; they will be beautiful and ready to pick up in time for Mother's Day weekend!

Another favorite February event is the Yard Garden and Patio Show (YGP) at the Oregon Convention Center. The show is February 18-20th this year.

YGP is a great way to kick off spring! There are hundreds of vendors there with anything you need for your garden; brickwork, decking, water features, plants, garden tools, & don’t forget the beer and wine! 

All weekend long there are great classes and seminars to see; in fact Brian Bauman will be giving a seminar Friday morning about his top 10 plant picks for 2011.

Also, each day of the show we are providing 250 plants to be given away to the first people through the doors! So make sure to come early and to stop by our booth for some awesome new spring products!

With February comes a new rewards member specials as well. This month’s item is frozen berries! Every rewards member will receive 25% off ALL frozen berries! For the first time ever peaches, cherries, and rhubarb will also be included in the sale. If you are not a rewards member yet, don’t worry, come on in and sign up!

Also…we have a few reminders for you. Valentines Day is coming up quickly! We have some great Valentines gifts in the store, crafts, fudge, beautiful blooming jasmine hoops, and other great planters.

Also, keep in mind that our Savory Sampling Day is coming up, Saturday, February 26th! You can check that out on Facebook too!

Lastly, to help you get ready for the big game on Sunday we are having a pre-party here from 1-4pm tomorrow! We will be popping kettle korn outside in the parking lot, with free samples! It will be a fun way to get ready for the game and a great chance to get out of the house for a while! Hope to see you here!
