Choirs This Weekend!
New Online Store
Employee Profile

Thank you so much to everyone who visited us before Thanksgiving and took home one of our pies. Tonya, Eri, and the rest of the girls in the bakery made over 500 pies on Tuesday and Wednesday last week. We hope that all of you had a very Happy Thanksgiving. Barb, my mom, loves to cook and like always made way too much food. She usually makes enough for 100 people and the 15 of us that were there all ended up taking huge platters home.

It seems like everyone is having Holiday Open Houses. Every time you open a newspaper or turn on the news or radio you hear about some business having an Open House. Well, we are having an Open House as well, but this year we have put together an event unlike anything you have experienced elsewhere.

On Friday, Dec. 5th from 4:00 to 8:00 (we will be open late on Friday) and Saturday, Dec. 6th from 9:00 to 5:00 we are excited to say that we will be having school choirs from all over the Willamette Valley coming to the farm to sing Christmas Carols as you shop though our store or pick out your Christmas Tree. As a thank you for taking the time to come and sing we will be donating 10% of all our Christmas Tree sales and all of the handling charges on all the packages that we ship to the choir that is singing. We had the opportunity for Wilsonville Choir to stop by on Monday and sing a few songs and it really created a magical atmosphere as their voices filled the greenhouses.  If you have not gotten your Christmas tree yet or need to ship some packages to family and friends then we hope you will take the time to come to the farm this weekend. By shopping here you will be helping to support a very deserving group of young people and taking part in a one of a kind holiday environment.

Yesterday was an early morning for us because we had Drew Carney stop by from Channel 8 News. It was so nice of them to come by and help us promote our Open House but my goodness, they showed up at 4:00 in the morning. If you missed it here is a link to Drew's Website. http://www.kgw.com/drewcarney/

Many of you who live far away and don't have the opportunity to stop by the store regularly or for those of you who are just too busy have asked us about purchasing some of our products online. With the help of Kara, my cousin and website designer, we have put together a new online store. You can check it out by going to www.baumanfarms.com/store. At this point we have some of our jams and syrups, a couple different signature gift packs and gift certificates available to purchase at the store. We would love for you to check it out and pass it along to your family and friends and let us know what other products you would like us to carry in the online store. We have so many different things in our country store that it's hard to choose which ones to make available online but if there is something that you would like to see in there please let us know.

At the farm we get tons of newsletters every week from a variety of sources.  Last week we came across a newsletter that all of us enjoyed reading and one thing they did in the Newsletter is give a profile of some of their employees. It was really fun reading about some of the people that we have worked with many times but never really took the time to get to know. This gave us the idea of creating a segment at the end of our newsletter that would highlight one of our employees that you may have seen but never taken the chance to get to know or find out something new about them.

This month we have chosen Ralph Martin. I am sure that many of you have seen Ralph around the store; he is so tall he is hard to miss. We have been very fortunate to have Ralph almost three years now. Before that, Ralph and his beautiful wife Nona would come to our store every Saturday morning to shop. It was always so great to see them because when they came through the door they always had a smile on their face and just loved coming out to the farm. Ralph always mentioned how one day he would love to work on the farm. At that time Ralph was a manager of a Professional Turf Center and before that he was the proud owner of his own florist shop. To say that he is an avid gardener would not even come close to describe Ralph's passion for plants. His home is a beautiful statement to his love of plants. While his wife truly loves all the plants he brings home, lets just say that she asked for something besides plants for Mother's Day each year because we all know who the plants would be for. The Bauman Family is very fortunate to have Ralph and his family as our extend family.

Happy Holidays from
The Bauman Family
