DECEMBER 2007
Hi there everyone, it's Sarah again. Just wanted to give you all a little heads up on a project I have started today. I am sure that you are all aware of the unfortunate weather events of the past month or so. My family and I feel very fortunate that we were able to escape any damage from the storm but our hearts are with those who suffered minimal to extensive damage to their personal belongings, homes, and places of business. In order to help we have set up a donation center here at the farm; we are looking for all kinds of supplies, things like canned food, blankets, toys, cash donations, and according to the red cross for the cleanup effort they are having a large demand for cleaning supplies, brooms, mops, sponges, gloves, soap, bleach, buckets, etc. We are going to be accepting donations from today through Saturday December 22nd; all donations will be given to the local chapter of the American Red Cross. As a special little thank you from all of us here at Bauman Farms, with every donation brought in you will receive a free bag of our apple cider donuts! During the Christmas season it is important to keep those less fortunate in our hearts.
Not sure about any of you but here on the farm Thanksgiving flew on by and I simply cannot believe the Christmas season is upon us. With less than two weeks left until Christmas it is time for a great sale. On sale right now for 25% off are all of our Christmas trees, wreaths, swags, poinsettias, and most of Christmas crafts. We still have lots of preassembled Holiday Gift Packs available with great things from the farm; berry jams, syrups, wines, honey, hazelnuts, and lots more. It is hard to believe that we are this close to Christmas, let us help you finish up your Christmas shopping!

While you're here don't forget to place orders for Christmas pies and rolls. We will be open Monday Christmas eve from 9am through 2pm for orders to be picked up as well as all those vegetables for Christmas dinner. If you would like to pick up your pies Christmas Eve we ask that you place your orders by Saturday the 22nd so that we are able to have them ready for you on the 24th. As I mentioned earlier we will also be making dinner rolls and of course Christmas cookies, breads, and pastries so make sure you add those into your order as well. We will have pies, cookies, breads, and rolls available for sale but if an order has not been placed ahead of time we are unable to ensure that we will have the products you wish to purchase. So give us a call and we will have your goodies ready by 10am Christmas Eve.
Spending time with our family is one of the most important things to us. The grandkids Austin, Allyson, and Hailey seem to be growing up right before our eyes. Austin had his 5th birthday This past Tuesday December 11th, and is getting bigger, stronger and smarter by the day. Allyson and Hailey are two very beautiful little girls; Allyson is talking and is on her way to walking, she will be turning one in January. Hailey is now four months old and growing quickly, she is making attempts at sitting up on her own and has been doing really well with her mom back at work. Christmas is a time when we really like to take the opportunity to be together as a family and to help us do so we will be closing at 2pm on Christmas eve and will be closed for two weeks, opening again at 9am on Monday, January 7th. We apologize if this comes as an inconvenience to any of you but hope that you will take some time and spend it with your families as well.

When we reopen in January our greenhouses will be in full swing, the boys out back will be working hard to get all hanging baskets and planters potted up so that they will be big and beautiful by spring time. If you would like us to pot up some baskets special for you keep it in the back of your mind through the holidays so that you are ready to come in and place orders when we open again in January.
We would like to thank all of you that came out during October to the Pumpkin Patch. While the weather was a little crazy at times we still had some beautiful fall days. We had several new activities this year and one of the resounding favorites was the jumping pillow. We worked with the Oregon Chapter of the MS Society to raise money to help families affected by the illness. Thanks to your help we were able to raise $4,000 and all of that money will be used to support families here in Oregon. Another new activity that we did this year was the Family Zone. We want to take this opportunity to recognize the winners of those activities. In the Corn Stalk Construction Set, Jim Gay's family constructed a tower that was 14' 6", The Flores Family constructed a tow that was 15' 6", Sarah Andres Family constructed a tower that was 17' 6", and the Grand Prize winner was the Brandou Clan whose tower was 18' 6". In the Hay Bail Roll the winners were Keith Smallwood and his family, Erik Kelley's Family, Ryan, Hunter, and Clarke, and the Grand Prize winner was Jeremy Turner's Family. Thank you to everyone who participated.
